What Is a Traumatic or Acquired Brain Injury?

A Traumatic or Acquired Brain Injury (TABI) refers to any injury that causes a decrease in thinking ability, behavior, or physical function.

These injuries can result from:

  • Falls
  • Blunt force trauma, such as an accident
  • Strokes
  • Concussion

TABI includes both external injuries and internal causes.
