Students with Disabilities: RecWORKS!
RecWORKS! is an inclusive and innovative model that uses recreation as a vehicle to teach the skills required for successful competitive, integrated employment. Priority is given to students who experience a disability.
What is the purpose of RecWORKS!?
- Assist students with disabilities to successfully transition from high school to Post-Secondary Education/Training, and/or Employment
- Prepare students for what they want to do after high school
- Support students with independent living skills training, leadership opportunities, and/or education they need to be successful.

Summer Work Program (SWP)
At the end of the school year, the goal is to identify students that would be interested in ILC's Summer Work Program, which offers 4-6 weeks of paid employment to participating students in a community-based setting.
Students with a disability aged 14-21 who are enrolled in high school (including homeschool). A student's disability may include, but is not limited to, physical, sensory,
intellectual, mental health, or communication.
