Transportation

The Independent Living Center has developed a supported transportation program using private cab companies, Alaska Department of Transportation and Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority funding to provide affordable and accessible transportation for elders and persons experiencing disabilities.  Eligible riders purchase reduced fare vouchers from their local ILC office and redeem them for rides with participating cab companies.  Riders use their vouchers to go to work, to doctors' visits, for shopping, recreation or wherever they choose to go in their community.
