FALL is here, and there are lots of fun things to do in September

Monday, September 18, 2017 9:39 AM | Devony Lehner (Administrator)

You can see the changing seasons reflected in September activities.  For one thing, TRAILS Wednesday bowling is back, along with more indoor activities and after-school options, like E.C.O. Kids on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at the Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies.  Check out this week's calendar for details:  weekly events September 18-24.pdf

A couple of fun OUTDOOR events are scheduled soon: TRAILS monthly bonfire and potluck at Bishops Beach, noon on Friday, September 22, and the grand opening of the Karen Hornaday Park trail, 2 pm on Sunday, September 24.  Also this Thursday, September 21, Homer’s wonderful annual documentary film festival kicks off with a gala presentation of An Inconvenient Sequel.  Check out the great film line up: https://www.homerdocfest.com/2016-festival (don’t worry that the link says 2016-festival, it goes to this year’s films).  Festival passes are $60 (which equals $6.67 per movie if you see all nine).

And don’t forget to download and look through the City of Homer recreation guide for fall/winter 2017-2018 at this link: https://www.cityofhomer-ak.gov/recreation/2017-2018-fall-winter-activity-and-recreation-guide.
